I'm surrounded by angels,
but I call them my best friends."

Education. How do you define education? What does education mean to you? Is it just a “phase” that all the kids your age have to go through because it is compulsory by law? Or is it something more? To me, education is the retrieving or the accepting or knowledge that would be essential for the guarantee of a secure future.
I am currently undergoing education at the secondary level and already as it is, I have acquired skills that would prove useful to me in adult life. The skills which I am referring to were not attained from my core subjects, rather it has been learned through subject that is not an O’ Level subject, Character Development lessons. The Character Development lessons have truly been an eye-opener for me to the plights of the people who are less fortunate than me.
Through my character Development lessons, I have acquired life-values such as sympathy, empathy, care, compassion and a sense of thoughtfulness. The CIP learning journey to the elderly homes w ere also part of the Character Development syllabus in which we were to learn to interact with senior citizens and empathize with the less fortunate. I truly felt that the CIP journey was the best lesson that I have ever experienced. It has made me appreciate my own very fortunate life and learn that there are people out there who are not so privileged as I am and as a human being it my responsibility and my moral obligation to help those in need.
Indeed, the Character Development lessons have been the most useful aspect of my education and it will truly make me a better adult.
